Location: All Venues
With great excitement and anticipation, we are rounding up the unusual suspects to present an all-day poetry festival. Everyone is invited and everyone is included. The Cast will have poet laureates (current and past), college professors, poetry in foreign languages (with translations), high-school poets, poetry of war, Japanese forms of poetry (in English), music and poetry, slam and humor. Take part in a Workshop from Metaphor to Anatomy of a Poem. Be first in line for book sales; learn from a panel of small press publishers. Spend the day from 9 till 5 in the company of kindred souls seeking palliative and liberating poetry.
Don’t miss this one. or as W.B.Yeats wrote in “Vacillation”
Man runs his course…
…Things said or done long years ago,
Or things I did not do or say
But thought that I might say or do,
Weigh me down, and not a day
But something is recalled,
My conscience or my vanity appalled.
Adult tickets are $20. Students $5 for the day. You can buy tickets online: https://sjpoetryfest.wordpress.com/. One may preregister for the workshops and open mic after purchasing a ticket, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and leaving contact information and the selections. Poets are asked to bring a poem or three to read in the closing Open Mic session. David Eisbach 1-408-799-8035
