Congratulations to our 3 Finalists:

Wenting Shi (USA) was born in 1992. Her competition awards include first prize in the Second Gu’Lang’yu National Piano Competition; first prize of Beethoven Music Festival National Competition in China; second prize of the Second National Concerto Competition for Young Musicians in China; highest prize of the Thirteenth Bucharest International Piano Competition in Romania; second prize of the Twelfth International Piano Competition of Taipei which was presented by the Frederic Chopin Foundation of Taipei in 2008; and fifth place in the International Toronto Piano Competition in 2014. In early 2011, she graduated from the Middle School Affiliated to Shanghai Conservatory of Music and pursued her further study at The Juilliard School. She received a Bachelor’s degree in May of 2015, honored with an Arthur Rubinstein Prize. She is now a Master’s student of Dr. Yoheved Kaplinsky at The Juilliard School.

Shino Hidaka (Japan) graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts. Since 2014 she has been doing postgraduate studies at the Moscow Conservatory under Prof. Yuri Slesarev. Shino is a winner of several national competitions in Japan. In 2012 she won the gold medal in the 5th Emil Gilels International Piano Competition in Odessa, where she also received a special prize for the best performance of the “Rhapsody” by contemporary Ukrainian composer, Vladimir Ptushkin. In 2013 she participated in the Tbilisi International Piano Competition where she was a semi-finalist and was awarded the Prize of the Great Hall of the Tbilisi Conservatory.

Meng-Sheng Shen (Taiwan) was recently named gold medalist at the 2013 Crescendo International Music Awards. Mr. Shen, a student at The Juilliard School under the Susan W. Rose Piano Scholarship, was a prizewinner in the 2012 Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto Competition and finalist in Juilliard’s 2011 and 2012 Gina Bachauer Piano Competition. He made his orchestral debut at age 10 with the Taichung City Symphony Orchestra and has since acquired credits with National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra. He has given performances at Lincoln Center, Aronoff Center Vancouver Steinway Hall and Taipei National Concert Hall and in such noted festivals as Aspen Music Festival, Music Festival at the Banff Center and Prague International Piano Festival. He was invited to give two all-Chopin recitals in 2010 to celebrate the composer’s bicentennial birthday in Taiwan.
